Tony Arimare

Executive coaching is an ongoing partnership between a coach and someone in a leadership role that helps produce fulfilling and sustainable results in their professional and personal lives.By engaging in clear and honest communication, Tony helps leaders explore opportunities, identify goals for action, and assume responsibility that ultimately increases their self-belief and determination to achieve extraordinary outcomes. Tony has used the coach approach in many different situations, including; leadership coaching, career transition, change management, as well as sensitive performance management issues.


Tony has been instrumental in identifying and driving long term change that has resulted in improved organizational and personal effectiveness. This includes leadership and responsibility for implementing a coaching culture that has led to changing and improving leader performance.
Located in Vancouver, Tony is an independent management consultant and executive coach. His focus of practice is to help challenge and support both leaders and organizations in transforming their culture, performance and results. Tony draws on his more than 30 years of experience as a seasoned and respected human resources and labour relations professional, in both the public and private sectors, where he provided advice to a diverse group of clients, including; not-for profit, emergency services, transportation and provincial government.


His most recent senior leadership position includes Interim Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). Tony provided executive leadership for strategic planning, management and administration of corporate human resources to a compliment of almost 20,000 unionized and management staff throughout British Columbia. Prior to joining the PHSA, Tony was Vice President of Human Resources for the British Columbia Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), for 13 years. Tony also has extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector, having worked closely with numerous agencies throughout BC, including the following programs and services:

-Community living

-Children and youth

-Transition homes

-Emergency aid

Tony obtained a graduate certificate in executive coaching (CEC) from Royal Roads University and a BA from Simon Fraser University. He also holds a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation through the International Coach Federation.


Tony combines his many years of experience with his passion for volunteer work including serving as a board member with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Vancouver Island, and coaching Vancouver Youth Soccer.
